--- ADDRESSING ---

The list labeled “Send To:” shows all destinations to which the fax will be sent when you click the “Send” button.  Move destinations into the destination list by dragging them from the phonebook list on the left side of the dialog.

To create a new destination, select “New Destination…” from the popup menu.  Enter the addressing information in the dialog that will appear.  Check the “Temporary” checkbox to add the destination to the destination list but not to the phonebook list.

To view or edit an existing destination in the phonebook list, double-click on the destination.  Any changes you make to the destination will be saved in the phonebook file unless you have a “read-only” copy of the phonebook.  A read-only copy is indicated by a crossed out pencil icon.

--- BUTTONS ---

The button in the upper-right says “Save” when there are no destinations in the destination list.  This allows creating a fax without sending it immediately.  This same button says “Send” when there are one or more destinations in the destination list.

The “Preview” button allows you to view the fax document before you send it.

The “Options” button allows setting send options for the fax.  These include scheduling the fax for later transmission, deleting or archiving the fax after transmission, selecting a coverpage, and adding a coverpage note.

The “Include” button allows you to add other fax documents, which were created previously, to the end of the fax you are about to create.

The “Settings” button gives you access to the FaxSTF™ configuration settings.  This button will not be available in applications having little free memory.

--- PHONEBOOK ---

The phonebook popup menu allows you to switch between different phonebooks and perform a variety of other tasks.

“Open Phonebook…” allows you to open a phonebook that is not located in the Phonebooks folder.  When opened, it will be added temporarily to the list of phonebooks in the popup menu.  To add it permanently to the popup menu, either move the file into the Phonebooks folder (i.e. System Folder:STF:Phonebooks) or put an alias to it into the Phonebooks folder.

“New Destination…” allows creating a new entry in the phonebook.

“Find…” allows searching for a destination.  The search will proceed through all phonebooks in the Phonebooks folder until a match is found.  The phonebook with the matching entry will be opened automatically.

“Find Again” can be used to continue the search for additional destinations which match the search criteria.

“Select All” allows quickly selecting all destinations in the active list.

“Remove Selected Destinations” allows deleting the selected destinations from the active list.  The same function can be performed by pressing the delete or backspace key.

“Organization”, “First Name”, and “Last Name”, allow sorting both lists by the respective criteria.

--- QUALITY ---

“Best” indicates that the fax will be created with the highest-quality text and graphics (roughly 200 X 200 dots per inch).

“Faster” trades quality for speed (roughly 200 X 100 dots per inch).

--- COLOR/GRAYSCALE ---

If the “Print Color/Grayscale” checkbox is checked, any color or grayscale images in your original document will be represented in black and white as best as possible (by dithering the color image).  If not checked, the color and grayscale in your original document will be ignored.
